I found that the wetsuit took several hours to dry due to the cooler conditions. The booties took less time but still longer than I thought they would. Perhaps the conditions at the moment in southern Victoria (Australia) where we're in the middle of winter is being a hindrance.
I think it will be more successful as the days get warmer and I can definitely see the advantage of the Surfdry kit if you are traveling because it is compact, completely portable and compatible with a USB outlet.
I was tired of flipping my wet suit over and over. Also didn't wanna stretch it by doing so.
Was especially tired of stinky boots. Even after washing them with soap, they took forever to dry even if I live in a dry area, and ended smelling again.
Both bone dry without any real effort. Just hang and plug the SurfDry cups.
The build quality seems great. Certainly looks durable. Uses very little power from my powerbanks.
Quite silent and I do feel air coming from the other ends of my wet suit.
Cannot get any easier. Great product!
They do dry you wetsuit, but not terribly fast. Still takes a day or so to dry the wetsuit with the Surfdry.

Worked just as I was hoping. Went diving in Florida two days in a row and it dried my wetsuit overnight. Great product and definitely worth the buy.
The SURFDRY doesn’t have enough power, it takes too long to dry the wetsuit and the power cords are too short making it difficult to leave it connect it easily.

We appreciate your reply. Adding power or speed or more airflow to SURFDRY Original's fans does not increase drying performance with ambient air. The good news is you have control of what does: Temperature! Our testing has shown Temperature is the #1 factor to drying performance. Pick a warmer drying location and your gear will dry faster.
And a heads up.. we do not use proprietary USB cables. Any USB-C cables will work. So a few $ investment for the cables of your choice will allow you ultimate flexibility! Thank you! SURFDRY
Awesome design. Works great, no need to flip the wetsuit before bed to make sure both sides dry. I use it along with a regular fan set on low and my suit is fully dry in the morning. Runs super quiet which is really nice as well. Already got a couple more as gifts for friends
I have experience purchasing and using both the Underwater Kinetics HangAir ($89 bucks) and the SURFDRY ($88 bucks) for drying surf wetsuits, and I can offer an experienced perspective on both. The SURFDRY power transformer (transforms from A/C to USB-C) gave up the ghost during the first 24 hours of use. Fortunately one can typically find another power brick around the house or just purchase a better quality brick online. I found the SURFDRY provided USB-C cables to be just TOO short, and I am betting many users will simply purchase longer cables online. At least one longer cable is required to allow the user to hang this device anywhere more than 1-2 feet from an outlet.
I have used the SURFDRY on medium sized full suits and the housing fit well and stays put in both the arm and leg openings. However, I can NEVER feel air moving out the other wetsuit openings during operation; whether in the ‘Waist Folding’ method or the ’Shoulder Hang’ method. It just does NOT move enough air. I usually have to place the housing up to my face to determine if it is actually running/operating. The amount of air movement (flow rate) appears to be too low.
In addition, the small amount of neoprene at the cuffs around the SURFDRY housing never drys. One must switch the device to another leg or arm opening. My suits have not been sufficiently dried by the SURFDRY during overnight operation in the garage in Winter here in Southern California.
While I have used the HangAir on both Medium and Large sized wetsuits (for surf), I have never experienced it over-stretching the neoprene in the shoulders permanently. It seems very appropriately sized to capture and distribute the amount of air needed to dry a full suit. The UK HangAir pushes 120 CFMs which is sufficient to dry a mens full suit in 4 to 8 hours, depending on your temperature and humidity. It never takes longer than 6-8 hours overnight in the garage on the coldest nights here in Southern Calif.

We appreciate your feedback. There are a HUGE amount of variables with respect to drying surf gear, including wetstuit thicknesses, neoprene materials, linings, ambient air temps and humidities.
We do know Hang Air doesn't dry booties. It isn't hand / held portable, so it doesn't stow well, especially for surf travel and isn't near-silent, so indoor drying could be annoying. We also considered recurring messaging from nearly every wetsuit manufacturer that heavy, wet wetsuits shouldn't be hung by the shoulders. And not every neoprene is equal in terms of moisture retention (some we tested carry as much as 120% of their dry weight in water). For this reason, we only recommend hanging wetsuits folded at the waist.
Couple other thoughts:
1. Great idea: We will consider providing different length USB cables in future kits. The good news is... SURFDRY uses *any USB-C* cables and power supply. With SURFDRY's very low power draw - only 1watt - a $10 USB Battery pack will run a pair of SURFDRY for 60 to 80 hours. While we wanted to provide everything you'd need to use SURFDRY a small investment in customizing a setup could offer huge portability and flexibilty.
2. We tested SURFDRY with various components, including higher throughput (louder) fans. They didn't dry faster with ambient air at least in our testing , which we tested in multiple seasons. (This is coastal Leucadia / Encinitas and a few miles inland Carlsbad, neither are particularly dry.

The units are very nice. The cincept is great. The fans are VERY low speed and there does not seem to be much airflow. Was on a wetsuit for over 2 hours and did not seem to dry much.

We sincerely appreciate feedback. As discussed, dry overnight are the expectations we are setting, 8 to 14 hours. With warm / dry ambient air, unfortuantely, 2 hours won't dry much, unless the temperatures are very warm, say >85F in a Summer garage.
The low fan speed and noise, we feel, is a feature, not a flaw. In our testing, we found moving more ambient air didn't dry faster, it just made more noise. And who wants more noise indoors?

The included cables are nothing proprietary. ANY USB-C cables will work. If you want longer or shorter or different colors, they will be compatible with SURFDRY.
Also, SURFDRY is compatible with any USB power source. I use a small USB battery pack, 10000mah (cigarette pack sized) and it runs a pair for 60 to 70 hours. So long that I tend to forget the last time I charged my battery!

Followed the directions precisely - rinsed the suit, let it drip dry for over an hour. Hung as recommended and plugged in. It’s been running overnight and this morning the suit is just as wet as the suit next to it without the surfdry attached.
Conditions were above 65F - however it was a bit rainy. It was in the garage. Here’s the thing. The airflow kept the suit from getting that stink that we’re all familiar with. Sure, it took much longer than advertised. But the constant airflow is beneficial.
The recommend using it in a warm interior space - well a suit will dry overnight in a warm interior space - so what’s the point? Not having to use sink the stink is one benefit.
The fans are simply too weak to be super effective.
The price is very high for 3-D printed devices with computer cooling fans in them.
It’s not as expected. Not great. Not 100% sure I’ll keep using them.

The temperature you cited is right on the lower edge of 'dry overnight' being a good expectation for drying performance. However, humidity (during rain) being close to 100% also makes a difference in drying performance. Together, we'd consider low temp and high humidity a substantial handicap.
If curious, we do use precision CNC cut molds for manufacturing, most definitely not 3D printing.
And we did a lot of detailed testing to find out higher speed fans didn't dry faster using ambient air. We consider the ultra-quiet fans a feature not a flaw. While this surprised us, our testing confirmed the result multiple times!
We are VERY glad to know SURFDRY, even used in less than optimal drying conditions eliminates the stink. We believe this is a valuable outcome!

Amazing product. Every surfer really needs one of these. No more slipping into a cold, wet wetsuit for winter dawn patrols. The Surfdry had my suit completely dry overnight, and it has quickly become part of my surfing routine. It’s fantastic!
From surfing a midday session yesterday to my wetsuit being bone dry in the winter at 7am this morning for a morning session, this thing is awesome! Without the Surf Dry my suit would still be halfway wet and I'd be freezing changing into it this morning!
No one wants to put on a damp wetsuit in the morning! Being a surf instructor, it's important to at least start out being warm during the winter months. My family will hang our suits to drip dry all day, then bring them to the garage and hook them to Surfdry overnight. Wetsuits are dry in the morning! We may have to buy more since there are four of us, and my kids are now spoiled! Will recommend this to all my students!
Works great!! My suit was dry and warm every morning for work. I bought two pair. They pack up small and does not take too much space in your luggage.
Oh my gosh!!!! What did I do to deserve working with such an amazing company? 🌈 SurfDry truly has some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced, especially Doug. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I had a personal issue that had nothing to do with the product itself, and Doug was incredibly understanding and exceeded all expectations in helping me find a solution.
Now for the product, wow. It’s innovative, incredibly helpful, and so versatile. I love that I can use it with a USB portable charger, hang it wherever I want, and make it completely outlet-free and portable. My husband absolutely loves it, especially since he surfs daily. Having a wetsuit that’s dry and warm every day has been a total game changer.
We personally set it up in the corner of our large walk-in shower, where there’s also a window for airflow, and it has been the perfect spot for our 🌈 SurfDry. It fits seamlessly into our routine and works beautifully.

Doesn’t dry the arms even with the top clipped. Using it for a grom suit. Fans could be a little stronger. Love the idea, just doesn’t really do the trick like the old fashioned fan does

The data we've collected suggests the biggest input to fast drying is temperature, not fan speed or air throughput. We optimized fan speed for indoor use; ultra-quiet, ultra-efficient.
From our research, we found, this has to do with moisture transfer rates witin the wetsuit material as well as boundary layer / adjacent air to the material.
SURFDRY is providing access to fresh air for evaporative drying on the inside of the suits. Other physics seems to be the limiting factor (thankfully!) for drying than air throughput / fan speeds.
Luckil we don't have to bring a leaf blower indoors to get suits to dry.
All that said, our testing suggests you'd have different (faster) results in a warmer drying environment. We fully recognize not every home has an ideal drying environment!

It has room for improvement, I think it cuts the drying time a bit if you're drying inside. You have to hang it twice, first to drip dry for an hour, then to set up the SurfDry after that. I thought it may battery charged so you can hang it somewhere more convenient. Currently you have to hang this within a few feet of an outlet based on the length of the cables which is a pain. My guess is version 2 will be worth waiting for.

We do suggest use of a USB battery pack for a big increase in portability. A pair will run on a small 10000mah battery pack for 50 to 70 hours of drying. I use this myself and lose track of the last time I charged.
I suppose if you hang in the shower, you might not have to hang twice. We do recommend some drip-out first before inserting SURFDRY, but the devices are fairly robust and can tolerate water dripping outside the housings.
Note, dripping times are dependent upon material. Different neoprene materials hold differing amounts of water. For a closed cell neoprene, necessary dripping might only be a few minutes.
